Positivist criminology represents the first systematic and scientific study of crime (Bradley Walters, 2011), and this emergence of positivist criminology is associated with the Italian School of three scholars: Cesare Lombroso, Enrico Ferri and Raffaele Garofalo (Bradley Walters, 2011). Positivist criminology radically proposed that crime was a non-rational product of under socialisation and could be studied, via clinical and statistical methods, in the same way scientists studied the natural world (McLaughlin, Muncie Hughes, 2003). The Italian School maintained that criminality had multi-factor explanations. The explanation for criminality was seen as a non-social defect of individuals (Maguire, Morgan Reiner, 2002) and one of the early explanations of crime prioritised in positivism were biological causes (McLaughlin et al., 2003). Biological positivism, as the name suggests, implies that crime is caused by biological or physical characteristics, and criminals are viewed as be ing inferior biological beings (Bradley Walters, 2011). Muncie (2001), argues that the basic premise of biological positivism is that certain people are born to be criminals through inheritance of a physiological or genetic tendency to crime. Environmental conditions are not ignored but are viewed as potential triggers of the biological influence, criminality lies beyond individual control (Muncie, 2001). This quote from Abhina Aher from Mumbai, India is full of many stories that emulate the modern day hijra. Abhina’s complete story will follow further on. But what is a hijra and how can Abhina’s story relate? Hijra can mean many things, but most of all, â€Å"hijra† means â€Å"strong willed†, because despite changes and challenges facing this group throughout time, the hijras of India and South Asia have prevailed. In modern terms, hijra is just the South Asian word for trans, transgender, or transexual identities. Meaning that their gender differs from the sex they were assigned at birth. However, it can mean much than just one’s non-conforming gender identity. Zia Jaffrey, who visited India to study noticed the hijras at a friend of a friend’s wedding, and questioned her acqua intance about them. The colleague explained their identities, but also informed Jaffrey that the word â€Å"hijra† can also be used in conversation to stand for an ambiguous position in an argument (Jaffrey 15-21). This is a sign that hijras be identified throughout the gender spectrum. Also I didnt like how Table wanted to kill Remote after he found about the plan. I think that he should have told them that what they are doing isnt right and show them the right path. I didnt like how Table wanted to involve violence. I like how Romeo friend named Mercuric was a supportive friend. I say that because he fights Table on behalf of Romeo. He was the one to but his life in danger for a friend. This shows the value of friendship. Mercantile was killed. What I enjoyed reading this part was how the nurse give Juliet medicine that makes her to sleep for 24 hours so she doesnt gets married to Paris. I didnt like how Romeo thought that Juliet was died but she wasnt because she took the pill, so Romeo killed himself. And when Juliet finds out that her husband is died, she themselves because of confusion. I believe that someone should had told Romeo about the plan that Juliet is taking a pill to be asleep for 24 hours. As Juliet wakes up after the 24 hours sleeping, she find her husband dead. So, she takes her on life away. The ending was sad but I liked how the death of Romeo and Juliet bought peace between the families. Overall, the drama was well written. But in my opinion that he ending could have been different such as the both families agrees and get Romeo and Juliet married instead of getting them kill. I dont think its necessary for in most case for love couples end of sacrifice there life by killing themselves to express the love. The drama was written according to the time period.
